Join us as Lulu Delacre shares stories and insights from her Rafi & Rosi series.
This will be an interactive program with storytelling and music! Ideal for kids in grades K-2.
About the series:
In this award-winning series, irrepressible Rafi Coquí, and his younger plucky sister Rosi explore the natural beauty, traditions, history, and culture of their native Puerto Rico. Each title features three distinct stories centered on a specific theme: nature, carnival, history, and music. Woven into the fabric of the rollicking adventures of the curious duo is the abiding love for each other. Children from any background will relate to their sibling relationship. About the author:
Lulu Delacre, three-time Pura Belpré Award honoree and winner of an Orbis Pictus Honor, is the illustrator of numerous award-winning books, several of which she also wrote or compiled. Her books include fiction and nonfiction and range from picture books to young adult titles. Delacre was born and grew up in Puerto Rico, where she loved to draw pictures, enjoy nature, and partake of the culture and traditions of her native island. Her experiences there are the inspiration for many of her works. Delacre and her husband live in Washington, DC. Learn more at luludelacre.com.
